Quick and easy party appetizer ready in under 1 hour.
Ingredients:
  • 1 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
  • 1/4 cup Progresso™ plain bread crumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 4 medium green onions, finely chopped (1/4 cup)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 jar (25.5 oz) Muir Glen™ fire roasted tomato pasta sauce
  • 3/4 cup dried cherries, chopped
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons cider vinegar or wine vinegar
  • Chopped fresh chives, if desired
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Combine ingredients for meatballs in a large bowl and form 30 (1-inch) meatballs. Arrange the meatballs in a 13x9-inch pan without greasing it.
  • Bake without covering for approximately 15 minutes, or until fully cooked with no pink in the center.
  • In a 3-quart saucepan, bring all sauce ingredients (except chives) to a boil, stirring occasionally. Lower the heat, add meatballs, cover, and simmer for about 15 minutes until the sauce is heated through. Garnish with chives and serve in a chafing dish or slow cooker on low heat.
