Indulgent meat, melty cheese, and bold tomato sauce create pure happiness. Transforming budget-friendly meat with flavorful twists, this stovetop recipe is convenient and cost-effective. Packed with veggies, it's destined to be a beloved family dish.
Ingredients:
  • 500 g minced pork
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 heaped teaspoons dried oregano
  • 50 g Cheddar cheese
  • 100 g stale bread
  • 3 carrots
  • 1 onion
  • 3 red chillies
  • 2 x 400g tins of chopped tomatoes
  • 1.5 kg potatoes
Instructions:
  • In a bowl, combine pork, egg, 1 heaped teaspoon of oregano, half of the Cheddar, wet bread, sea salt, and black pepper. Mix everything together well with your hands and shape into a 20cm loaf. Heat olive oil in a casserole pan over medium-high heat, brown the meatloaf on all sides. Add carrots, onion, garlic, deseeded chillies, chopped tomatoes, and remaining oregano. Season, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes. Boil potatoes until cooked, then mash with oil. Finish meatloaf with remaining Cheddar and chilli halves, melt cheese, then slice and serve with mashed potatoes and sauce. Enjoy!
