Creamy Mexican oatmeal with milk, cinnamon, and vanilla - a comforting and sweet treat.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 Mexican cinnamon stick
  • ½ cup quick cooking oats
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon piloncillo, or to taste
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan, bring water and cinnamon stick to a flavorful boil, then let it gently simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Add oats to the pot and cook for a minute. Pour in the milk and cook until thickened, which should take around 1 to 2 minutes. Take the pot off the heat and stir in the piloncillo, cinnamon, and vanilla.
