Grilled Salsa Burgers

Spice up your BBQ with Mexican-inspired stuffed burgers bursting with cheese and flavor - a fiesta for your taste buds!
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
  • 1/2 cup thick & chunky salsa
  • 1/4 cup Progresso™ plain bread crumbs
  • 3/4 cup shredded hot pepper Monterey Jack cheese (3 oz)
  • 6 burger buns, split, toasted
  • 6 tomato slices
  • 6 avocado slices
  • 6 tablespoons sour cream
Instructions:
  • Preheat the grill. Combine beef, salsa, and bread crumbs in a bowl. Form 12 (4-inch) patties, 1/4 inch thick. Place a tablespoon of cheese in the center of 6 patties. Cover with remaining patties and press edges firmly to seal.
  • Grill the patties over medium heat with the grill covered for 11 to 13 minutes, flipping halfway through, until a meat thermometer inserted into the center reads 160°F.
  • Lay the burgers on the bottom halves of the buns and add a slice of tomato and avocado to each. Spread 1 tablespoon of sour cream on each burger. For extra flavor, you can add more salsa on top. Finish by placing the top halves of the buns.
