Satisfy your cravings with a delicious Mexican steak sandwich bursting with flavors of char-grilled steak, creamy avocado, and fresh veggies on a warm, toasty roll.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound sirloin steak
  • 1 tablespoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • ground cayenne pepper to taste
  • 4 kaiser rolls, split
  • 0.25 cup mayonnaise
  • 0.5 cup refried beans
  • 1 large avocado, thinly sliced
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • 2 cups shredded lettuce
  • 1 ounce crumbled cotija cheese
Instructions:
  • Prepare the outdoor grill by heating it to medium-high and lightly oiling the grate. Season your steak with a blend of garlic salt, black pepper, cumin, and cayenne pepper.
  • Grill steak on a preheated grill until perfectly medium-rare, flipping once, for about 5 minutes each side. Rest on a cutting board, tented with foil.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Spread mayonnaise on both sides of each roll. Toast the rolls, mayonnaise-side down, until golden brown, for about 3 minutes. Microwave the refried beans in a bowl on High for 1 minute. Slice the sirloin steak into thin strips.
  • On the bottom half of each roll, slather a delicate layer of beans, then stack on steak, avocado, tomato, and lettuce. Add cheese, if preferred, and seal the sandwich with the top of the roll.
