Effortless microwave strawberry jam, ready in just 15 minutes for a hassle-free experience.
Ingredients:
  • 2 1/2 cups hulled and quartered strawberries (from about 1 pound)
  • 2 teaspoons orange zest
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup sugar (can reduce to 1/4 cup if you would like your jam less sweet)
Instructions:
  • Combine quartered strawberries, orange zest, lemon juice, and sugar in a large microwave-safe bowl or 8-cup Pyrex measuring cup. Gently toss to coat the strawberries evenly with sugar. Let sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to macerate.
  • Microwave in 5 minute intervals: Place the bowl of strawberries on a plate in the microwave. Cook on high, stirring gently after each interval to prevent overflow. If it bubbles up, switch to a larger microwave-safe bowl. Jam is ready when liquid thickens slightly. Thickness will increase as it cools.
  • Transfer the hot jam into a jar and cool to room temperature before chilling in the refrigerator. If the jam is still too loose after chilling, microwave for additional minutes. Store the jam in the refrigerator or freezer with 1 inch of headspace for expansion.
