Berry-filled crostata with refrigerated pie dough.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (14 ounce) package refrigerated pie crusts (2 pie crusts)
  • 0.25 cup white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup fresh raspberries
  • 1 cup fresh blackberries
  • 0.5 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar, or as needed
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C) and prepare two small cookie sheets with parchment paper.
  • Place each pie crust dough round onto a lined cookie sheet.
  • Combine 1/4 cup sugar and flour in a bowl, then evenly sprinkle half of the mixture over each dough round, ensuring to leave a 1-inch border.
  • Evenly distribute raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries on top of the flour-sugar mixture on each dough round, then drizzle the juice from half a lemon over the berry mixture.
  • Gently fold a 1-inch border of dough on each round, pleating as you go to seal in the delicious berry juices. Brush the pleated crusts with beaten egg and sprinkle 1 tablespoon of sugar on both crusts and berry mixtures.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until the crust turns golden brown, for approximately 25 minutes. Allow it to cool for 10 minutes before serving warm.
