Elevate traditional Pizzelle cookies by adding cocoa and coffee liqueur for a decadent mocha twist.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 0.25 cup coffee liqueur
  • 5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cup dark unsweetened cocoa powder
Instructions:
  • In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter until it reaches a smooth consistency. Remove the saucepan from the heat, then stir in the sugar until it dissolves completely. Add the eggs and coffee liqueur, mixing thoroughly to combine all ingredients evenly.
  • Combine flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder in a large bowl. Mix into the butter mixture until well-combined and the batter is stiff.
  • Preheat pizzelle baker following the manufacturer's guidelines.
  • Spoon batter onto hot pizzelle baker and bake until golden, around 45 seconds. Trim any uneven edges with scissors after removing from the baker.
