Create delicious bacon, egg, and cheese cups by layering bread in muffin tins, adding bacon, egg, and cheese, then baking. Perfect for your next brunch gathering.
Ingredients:
  • 6 slices bacon
  • 1.5 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1.5 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 6 slices bread, crusts removed
  • 6 eggs
  • salt and black pepper to taste
  • 6 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 6 tablespoons shredded Cheddar cheese, or as desired
Instructions:
  • Cook the bacon in a large, deep skillet over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until evenly browned, about 10 minutes. Transfer the cooked bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain; then crumble and set aside.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease the muffin cups.
  • Mix the melted butter and maple syrup in a bowl. Flatten each piece of bread using a rolling pin. Brush the bread slices with the butter mixture, then use them to line the muffin cups. Bake in a preheated oven until the bread crisps, for about 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Create a base of crumbled bacon in the toast cups. Gently add an egg to each cup. Season with salt and pepper. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of heavy cream and sprinkle 1 tablespoon of cheese on top of each egg. Bake until the egg whites are softly set, about 10 to 14 minutes, or until the eggs reach your desired doneness.
