Indulge your loved one with a decadent double-layer chocolate-caramel pie sprinkled with pecans for a show-stopping dessert.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (9 inch) baked pie shell
  • 12 individually wrapped caramels, unwrapped
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk (such as Eagle Brand®), divided
  • 0.25 cup margarine
  • 2 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened baking chocolate
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 0.5 cup chopped pecans
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a toasty 325 degrees F (165 degrees C), then snugly nestle the pie shell into the 9-inch pie dish.
  • Melt caramels with 1/3 cup sweetened condensed milk in a saucepan over low heat for 3 to 5 minutes. Pour the smooth caramel mixture into the pie shell.
  • Combine margarine and chocolate in a saucepan over gentle heat until silky and completely melted, about 3 to 5 minutes. Take off the heat.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, sweetened condensed milk, water, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth. Fold in the chocolate mixture and pour over caramel layer. Sprinkle pecans on top before baking.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 35 minutes until the center of the pie is set. Allow the pie to cool at room temperature for 1 hour, then chill in the fridge.
