Elevate classic mac and cheese with extra cheesy goodness in just 30 minutes with this simple recipe.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon grated or very finely chopped garlic
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (8 oz)
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil leaves
Instructions:
  • Prepare the macaroni as per the package instructions and then drain.
  • Melt butter in a 10-inch skillet over medium heat. Whisk in flour, salt, and garlic, and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until mixture is fragrant and lightly golden. Keep stirring constantly with the whisk.
  • Pour in the milk and whisk continuously, making sure to scrape the bottom of the skillet until the mixture reaches a boil and thickens. Take the skillet off the heat and mix in the cheese and basil until smooth. Gently fold in the drained macaroni.
  • Garnish with fresh basil leaves as desired.
