Homemade, healthier version of a classic kid's favorite.
Ingredients:
  • 268.13 gm honey
  • 45.00 gm brown sugar
  • 750.00 ml untoasted muesli or rolled oats
  • 170.00 gm sultanas
  • 62.50 ml sunflower seeds
  • 62.50 ml pumpkin seeds
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 180C. Grease and line the base and long sides of a 19 x 29cm slice pan for easy removal later.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter with honey and sugar until the sugar dissolves, stirring constantly for 5 minutes.
  • Bring the mixture to a gentle boil and simmer for 2 minutes, or until the syrup starts to thicken slightly.
  • Take the mixture off the stove and mix together the muesli, sultanas, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, and cinnamon in a large bowl.
  • Pour the steaming syrup over the mixture and gently stir until everything is well mixed.
  • Transfer the mixture into the pan and gently press it down using the back of a spoon.
  • Bake until golden brown and crisp, about 30 minutes. Allow to cool in the pan before cutting into 5cm x 9cm rectangles to serve.
