Spooky Halloween lasagna with beef, sausage, and cheesy goodness - a perfect Italian feast for your family.
Ingredients:
  • 12 uncooked lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
  • 1/2 lb bulk Italian pork sausage
  • 1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
  • 1 jar (25.5 oz) Muir Glen™ tomato basil pasta sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) Muir Glen™ organic diced tomatoes with basil and garlic, undrained
  • 2 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 container (8 oz) sour cream
  • 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (16 oz)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F. Prepare noodles according to package instructions.
  • In a large nonstick skillet, sauté beef, sausage, and onion over medium-high heat for 15 minutes until beef is fully cooked; remember to stir occasionally and drain any excess fat. Add pasta sauce and tomatoes, bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 10 minutes on low heat.
  • Combine cream cheese, sour cream, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, egg, and pepper flakes in a large bowl.
  • In a 14x10-inch lasagna pan, layer 1 cup of meat sauce, 4 cooked noodles, half of the cream cheese mixture, 1 cup of meat sauce, and 1 cup of mozzarella cheese. Repeat layering with 4 noodles, remaining cream cheese mixture, 1 1/2 cups of meat sauce, and 1 cup of mozzarella cheese. Finish with noodles, meat sauce, and the final cup of mozzarella cheese on top.
  • Bake without a cover for 30 to 35 minutes until bubbly and the cheese is melted. Allow to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
