Impress guests with gourmet ham steak sandwiches.
Ingredients:
  • Olive oil, for greasing
  • 46.80 gm Dijon mustard (MasterFoods brand)
  • 32.00 gm brown sugar
  • 27.30 gm olive oil
  • 4 (about 600g) ham steaks
  • Salt & ground black pepper
  • 4 lcm-thick slices (about 1/2 small) fresh pineapple, peeled, halved
  • 8 lcm-thick, diagonally cut slices ciabatta bread
  • 8 butter lettuce leaves, washed, trimmed
  • 50g snow pea sprouts
  • 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • Extra Dijon mustard (optional), to serve
Instructions:
  • Prepare the chargrill by brushing it with olive oil, ensuring it's lightly greased, then preheat it on medium-high heat.
  • In a small bowl, mix mustard, brown sugar, and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Brush both sides of the ham steaks with the mustard mixture. Grill on high heat for 2 minutes per side until heated through. Halve the ham steaks, season with salt and pepper, and keep warm.
  • - Grill pineapple slices on high heat for 2 minutes on each side, until warmed through. - Toast or grill bread until golden brown. - Place butter lettuce, snow pea sprouts, ham steak, pineapple, and red onion on each slice of toast. - Serve with extra Dijon mustard, if desired.
