Naan bread recipe

Make billowy, buttery naan at home in your oven for a taste sensation. High heat gives the perfect charred blisters. Get creative with garlic, cheese, or sweet fillings. Pair with your favorite Indian dishes or try Tandoori naan pizza.
Ingredients:
  • 450g (3 cups) bread flour
  • 7g sachet (2 tsp) dried yeast
  • 2.40 gm salt
  • 5.00 gm caster sugar
  • 185ml (3/4 cup) warm water
  • 90g (1/3 cup) Greek Style Yoghurt
  • 36.80 gm vegetable oil
  • 30g ghee, melted
  • Sesame seeds, toasted
Instructions:
  • In a bowl, use a flat-bladed knife to mix flour, yeast, salt, and sugar until the dough just comes together. Add water, yogurt, and oil. Knead dough for 5 minutes until smooth.
  • Place the dough in a bowl and cover it with plastic wrap. Let it rest in a warm spot for about 1 hour until it doubles in size.
  • Preheat the oven to 250°C and the pizza stone for 40 minutes. Punch down the dough and divide it into 6 portions.
  • On a lightly floured surface, roll out each portion of dough into a 12 x 20cm oval shape.
  • Coat the dough evenly with oil. Bake on a pizza stone until puffed and lightly golden, about 5 minutes.
  • Coat with luxurious ghee and sprinkle with aromatic sesame seeds. Wrap snugly in foil to preserve warmth. Repeat with remaining dough portions.
