Slow-simmered navy bean soup with savory ham, robust tomatoes, celery, and flavorful herbs.
Ingredients:
  • 6 cups water
  • 1 (16 ounce) package dried navy beans
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 0.5 pound chopped ham
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 cube chicken bouillon
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 3 cups water
Instructions:
  • Assemble all the ingredients.
  • In a stock pot, mix together water, beans, tomatoes, ham, onion, celery, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, bouillon, parsley, garlic powder, and bay leaf. Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer for two hours.
  • Pour 3 cups of water into the pot and season with salt and pepper. Allow the mixture to simmer for two hours. Before serving, remember to remove the bay leaf.
