Transform your dishes with this irresistible homemade Neapolitan sauce, a game changer for pasta, pizza, and lasagna lovers! Say goodbye to store-bought marinara forever.
Ingredients:
  • 4 pounds tomatoes
  • 0.25 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 10 leaves fresh basil, roughly chopped
Instructions:
  • Score an "x" on the bottom of each tomato, then blanch them in boiling water for a minute. Transfer the tomatoes to an ice bath to easily peel off the skin.
  • 1. Bring a big pot of water to a boil. 2. Place tomatoes in the boiling water for 1 minute in batches. 3. Remove tomatoes carefully and place them in an ice bath. 4. Peel off the skins on a work surface.
  • In a heavy saucepan over medium heat, sauté garlic until lightly browned and fragrant for about 45 seconds. Crush tomatoes by hand and add them to the pan along with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir occasionally until the sauce starts to thicken, about 20 to 25 minutes.
  • Gently fold in fragrant fresh basil and take off the heat. Serve promptly.
