Nutella® Buttercream Frosting

Decadent Nutella buttercream frosting with rich chocolate-hazelnut flavor. Ideal for topping chocolate cakes and cupcakes.
Ingredients:
  • 0.75 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 0.75 cup chocolate-hazelnut spread (such as Nutella®)
  • 3 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon hazelnut extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
Instructions:
  • In a bowl, whisk together butter and chocolate-hazelnut spread until creamy using an electric mixer on medium-high speed for about 2 minutes. Lower the mixer speed to medium and slowly incorporate confectioners' sugar, 1/2 cup at a time, mixing well after each addition and scraping down the sides of the bowl as necessary.
  • For each cup of confectioners' sugar added, crank up the mixer to high speed and beat for 10 to 20 seconds. Next, mix in cream, hazelnut extract, vanilla extract, and salt, beating until smooth.
