Indulgent homemade Nutella® gelato inspired by Italy.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 0.75 cup heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup chocolate-hazelnut spread (such as Nutella®), divided
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, blend milk, cream, and sugar until sugar dissolves, about 3 to 5 minutes. Stir in 1/2 cup of chocolate-hazelnut spread and vanilla, whisk until smooth and no chocolate specks remain. Avoid boiling. Take off heat and allow to cool.
  • Chill mixture in the refrigerator for 3 hours, until cold.
  • Transfer the mixture into an ice cream maker and freeze as per the manufacturer's guidelines.
  • Next, heat the remaining 1/2 cup of chocolate-hazelnut spread in a small microwave-safe bowl on high for about 30 seconds, until it is slightly melted.
  • Pour the gelato into a freezer-safe container. Drizzle with melted chocolate-hazelnut spread and swirl with a knife. Freeze for at least 4 hours or overnight until set.
