Classic homemade fried pastries.
Ingredients:
  • 2 eggs
  • 1.5 cups cake flour
  • 1 tablespoon confectioners' sugar
  • 1 quart oil for frying, or as needed
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 0.5 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions:
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs. Gradually stir in cake flour, confectioners' sugar, and salt until a stiff dough forms.
  • Preheat oil in a deep-fryer or large heavy skillet to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Divide dough into walnut-sized pieces and flatten into thin circles on a lightly floured surface.
  • Fry in hot oil for 3 to 4 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden brown. Drain on paper towels, let cool, then top with a drizzle of honey and a sprinkle of chopped nuts.
