Buttermilk-spiced oatmeal cookies.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.75 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 0.67 cup buttermilk
  • 1.5 cups rolled oats
  • 0.5 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup raisins
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease the cookie sheets.
  • Cream the butter and brown sugar in a large bowl until smooth. Beat in the egg. Combine flour, baking soda, nutmeg, cinnamon, and allspice; stir into the sugar mixture alternately with buttermilk. Mix in oats, walnuts, and raisins. Drop rounded spoonfuls onto prepared cookie sheet.
  • Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes. Let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
