Simple low-fat bread baked into a round loaf.
Ingredients:
  • 3.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup quick cooking oats
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 (8 ounce) container low-fat sour cream
  • 0.75 cup skim milk
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 0.25 cup butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Combine flour, 1/2 cup oats, salt, baking powder, and baking soda in a large bowl.
  • Combine sour cream, milk, honey, and sugar in a separate bowl. Gently fold into the flour mixture until fully combined. Mix in melted butter or margarine. Enjoy the creamy goodness!
  • Transfer the dough to a greased baking sheet and form it into an 8-inch round circle. Brush the loaf's top with melted butter or margarine and sprinkle with the remaining 1 tablespoon oats. Score the top into quarters using a knife.
  • Bake until golden brown, approximately 40 minutes. Allow to cool completely before slicing.
