Choose tart apples, slice and mix with flour and spices, then fill pie crust.
Ingredients:
  • 2 (9 inch) unbaked pie crusts
  • 7 cups peeled, cored and sliced apples
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 0.125 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C) while you line a 9-inch pie plate with the bottom crust.
  • In a bowl, mix together apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg. Transfer the mixture into the pie plate. Dot with butter, then cover with the top crust and seal it. Remember to cut vents for steam to escape.
  • Place in the oven and bake for 10 minutes.
  • Lower the oven temperature to 300°F (150°C and continue baking until the crust turns golden brown and the apples are tender, for about 40 to 50 minutes. Allow it to cool before serving.
