Whip up these quick and tasty Old-Fashioned Apple Oatmeal Cookies in just 20 minutes. Packed with tart apples, warm spices, and sweet brown sugar - the perfect fall treat!
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 medium apple, chopped (1 cup)
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 375°. Prepare a cookie sheet by greasing it with shortening. In a large bowl, use an electric mixer on medium speed to beat together brown sugar, butter, and egg until the mixture is light and fluffy. Add flour, nutmeg, salt, and baking soda, and stir well. Gently fold in the apple. Enjoy the delicious aroma filling your kitchen!
  • Scoop rounded teaspoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet, making sure to leave 2 inches of space in between each one.
  • Bake until golden brown (8 to 10 minutes). Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool before loosely covering and storing.
