Elevate oat bars with Marzetti® Old Fashioned Caramel Dip and sweet apples for a delightful twist!
Ingredients:
  • 1 (16 ounce) tub Marzetti's® Old Fashioned Caramel Dip
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.75 cups quick cooking oats
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 cup butter, softened
  • 0.25 cup shortening
  • 0.5 cup packed brown sugar
  • 4.5 cups peeled and chopped favorite apples
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  • Mix flour, oats, salt, and baking soda in a bowl.
  • Combine butter, shortening, and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Use an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth. Add dry ingredients and blend until a crumbly mixture forms.
  • Measure and set aside 2 cups of crumbs. Press the rest of the crumbs into a 9x13 inch pan, then evenly spread the apples over the crust.
  • Pour Marzetti Old Fashioned Caramel Dip into a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 30 to 40 seconds until warm. Stir until smooth, then drizzle over apples and sprinkle with remaining crumbs.
  • Place in the center of the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes until the top turns golden brown and the apples are soft. Cut into your preferred size bars while still warm and enjoy.
  • Refrigerate leftover bars for freshness.
