Adorable Cheerios® octopus decoration adds creativity and color to your table.
Ingredients:
  • Glue
  • 3 sheets of felt (12x9 inch)
  • 8 pipe cleaners (10 inch)
  • Scissors
  • Clean, empty soup can
  • Cheerios™ cereal
  • 2 googly eyes
Instructions:
  • Cover one sheet of felt with adhesive. Position the pipe cleaners horizontally and evenly on the felt, ensuring one end touches one long edge while leaving about an inch overhang on the opposite side. Drizzle glue over each pipe cleaner. Top with another sheet of felt, press down firmly to close, and let dry.
  • Cut the felt between the pipe cleaners into evenly sized strips. Round the end of each strip. Glue two lines of cereal onto each tentacle. Allow it to dry.
  • Gently fold each tentacle's exposed pipe cleaner-end to a 90° angle. Securely attach each tentacle to the sides of the can at the bottom using tape, ensuring the tentacles are facing down towards the cereal.
  • Wrap the can with a rectangle of felt to hide the pipe cleaner ends. Cut a 5x3-inch rectangle of felt for the head, round one end, and glue it onto the can with the rounded part facing up. Attach the googly eyes. Delicately curl the tentacles.
