Family-favorite German marble cake – simple and delicious!
Ingredients:
  • 1.75 cups sugar
  • 5 egg yolks
  • 3.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 5 egg whites
  • 2 tablespoons sweet cocoa
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), and prepare a 10-inch tube pan by greasing and flouring it.
  • Cream together the butter and sugar in a large bowl until smooth. Mix in the egg yolks and continue beating for 10 minutes.
  • Slowly incorporate the flour and milk in batches, blending until fully combined. Mix in the baking powder.
  • Whisk the egg whites separately until fluffy, then gently fold them into the batter.
  • Set aside 1/4 of the batter, then pour the remaining batter into a prepared tube pan.
  • Blend the cocoa into the remaining 1/4 of the batter until fully incorporated. Gently swirl the mixture into a tube pan using a fork to create a visually appealing marbled pattern.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 60 to 70 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean from the center. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
