Apple-studded cake with rich butterscotch glaze elevates flavors and textures effortlessly.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Delights Super Moist™ Spice Cake Mix
  • 3 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 large Granny Smith apple, peeled, cored and chopped (2 cups)
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons butterscotch topping
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • Dried apple slices, if desired
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 325°F and liberally grease a 10- or 12-cup fluted tube cake pan.
  • In a large bowl, use an electric mixer on low speed to beat all Cake ingredients except apples for 1 minute, making sure to scrape the bowl constantly. Switch to medium speed and beat for an additional 2 minutes. Stir in apples and then pour the mixture into a pan.
  • Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let it cool for 15 minutes, then invert onto a rack or plate, remove the pan, and let it cool completely for about 1 hour. Place the cake on a serving plate.
  • In a medium bowl, use an electric mixer on medium speed to beat together the Butterscotch Glaze ingredients for about 1 minute until smooth. Drizzle the glaze on top of the cake and garnish with dried apple slices.
