Savor the flavors of French onion, beef stroganoff, and mushrooms in a simple, cheesy one-pan dinner.
Ingredients:
  • 1 brown onion, thinly sliced
  • 150g button mushrooms, thickly sliced
  • 22.20 gm tomato paste
  • 5.00 gm sweet paprika
  • 500g beef mince
  • 40.00 ml plain flour
  • 1L (4 cups) Stock Beef Style
  • 24.40 gm Worcestershire sauce
  • 250g dried pappardelle pasta
  • 200g tub French onion dip
  • 200g (2 cups) grated 3 cheese blend
  • 40.00 ml fresh thyme leaves
Instructions:
  • In a large heavy-based frying pan over medium heat, heat oil until shimmering. Sauté onion until golden, about 5 minutes. Add mushrooms and cook until softened, about 3 minutes. Stir in garlic, tomato paste, and paprika, and cook until aromatic, about 30 seconds.
  • Introduce the beef into the pan. Utilize a wooden spoon to disintegrate any clumps, cooking for 5 minutes until it gains a golden brown hue. Sprinkle with flour and continue stirring for 1 minute. Pour in the stock and Worcestershire sauce. Boost the heat to medium-high and allow it to reach a boil. Introduce the pasta, then lower the heat to medium-low. Let it simmer for 12-15 minutes, occasionally stirring until the pasta is al dente and the sauce thickens. Take off the heat and blend in the dip until fully combined.
  • Preheat the grill on high heat. Sprinkle the cheese over the pasta mixture and grill for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden. Finish by adding a sprinkle of fresh thyme on top.
