Delicious low-fat orange almond biscotti with sugar, sliced almonds, and orange zest. So tasty!
Ingredients:
  • 2.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.25 cups white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 0.5 cup sliced almonds
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 3 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 0.25 teaspoon almond extract
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare the baking sheet by greasing and flouring it.
  • Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, almonds, and orange zest in a large bowl. Create a well in the center and pour in eggs, oil, and almond extract. Mix by hand until a dough forms.
  • Divide the dough into 2 portions and shape each into an 8-inch log. Arrange the logs on a baking sheet and press down to create a 3/4-inch thickness. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes. Allow them to cool a bit, then transfer to a cutting board. Cut into 1/2-inch slices at a diagonal angle using a serrated knife. Place the slices back on the baking sheet and bake for another 10 to 15 minutes, flipping halfway through. The cookies should be crispy and crunchy once done.
