1940s Bisquick recipe: Brush with orange juice, sprinkle with sugar, bake.
Ingredients:
  • 2 1/4 cups Original Bisquick™ mix
  • 2 teaspoons grated orange peel
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon orange juice
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 400°F and spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray. In a medium bowl, mix Bisquick, orange peel, and milk until dough forms.
  • Roll the dough in a generous amount of Bisquick mix on a floured surface. Press or roll the dough to 1/2 inch thickness and cut into rounds using a 2 1/2-inch cutter. Arrange the rounds 2 inches apart on a baking sheet. Brush with orange juice and sprinkle with sugar. Enjoy!
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until the edges are golden brown and the tops are light golden brown. Serve warm.
