Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange peel
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 6 eggs
  • 10 slices (1 inch thick) French bread, cut into 1-inch cubes (9 cups)
  • 1 can (11 oz) mandarin orange segments, drained
  • Powdered sugar, if desired
  • 1 jar (about 12 oz) orange marmalade, warmed
Instructions:
  • Coat a 2 1/2-quart casserole or a 13x9-inch baking dish with cooking spray. In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat together flour, milk, granulated sugar, orange peel, vanilla, salt, and eggs until smooth, about 2 minutes. Gently fold in bread cubes until evenly coated.
  • Transfer the bread mixture into a casserole dish and ensure the orange segments are evenly distributed on top. Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 8 hours and no more than 24 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Dust with powdered sugar and serve with orange marmalade.
