Festive French toast with cranberry-orange sauce, perfect for holiday brunches.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 0.5 cup orange juice
  • 6 eggs
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 0.5 cup half-and-half
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 12 slices French bread
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan, simmer cranberries, water, sugar, and orange juice until cranberries soften and thicken, about 20 to 25 minutes.
  • Preheat your oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit (150 degrees Celsius).
  • In a shallow dish, combine eggs, sugar, orange juice, half-and-half, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Soak French bread slices in the mixture until well coated. Cook on a griddle until the egg coating is set, about 3 to 4 minutes per side.
  • Place 2 slices of French toast on each plate and generously spoon sauce over the top.
