Whip up zesty citrus scones in just 30 minutes for a delightful brunch treat!
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups Gold Medal™ self-rising flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons grated orange peel
  • 1/3 cup cold butter
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Additional sugar
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 425°F. Combine flour, 1/2 cup sugar, and orange peel in a medium bowl. Use a pastry blender or fork to cut in butter until crumbly. Mix in buttermilk, orange juice, pecans, and vanilla until dry ingredients are just moistened.
  • Place the dough on a lightly floured surface and knead it 3 or 4 times, then divide it in half. Roll or pat each half into a 7-inch round on an ungreased large cookie sheet. Cut each round into 8 wedges without separating them, and sprinkle with sugar.
  • Bake until golden brown for 12 to 14 minutes. Gently separate wedges and serve warm.
