Citrus-infused poppy seed bread with a zesty twist!
Ingredients:
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons poppy seed
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange peel
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup orange marmalade
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 to 3 teaspoons milk
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease the loaf pan with shortening. In a large bowl, mix all Bread ingredients with a spoon and beat for 30 seconds. Pour the mixture into the pan.
  • Bake the 8-inch loaf for 45-55 minutes or the 9-inch loaf for 40-50 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow it to cool for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan to a wire rack. Let it cool completely for about 1 hour.
  • Combine powdered sugar and milk in a small bowl until you achieve a smooth and drizzle-worthy consistency. Drizzle this mixture over the loaf, letting some of it cascade down the sides gracefully.
