Delicious almond and poppy seed bread with a delightful orange-almond-butter glaze.
Ingredients:
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2.25 cups white sugar
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 1.5 cups milk
  • 1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1.125 cups vegetable oil
  • 1.5 tablespoons poppy seeds
  • 1.5 teaspoons butter flavored extract
  • 1.5 teaspoons almond extract
  • 0.25 cup orange juice
  • 0.75 cup white sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon butter flavored extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon almond extract
Instructions:
  • Combine flour, 2 1/4 cups white sugar, baking powder, salt, milk, 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla, and eggs in a bowl. Add vegetable oil, poppy seeds, 1 1/2 teaspoons butter flavoring, and 1 1/2 teaspoons almond flavoring. Use an electric mixer to beat for 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Prepare 2 standard loaf pans or 6 small loaf pans by greasing them lightly. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 45-60 minutes. Allow to cool for 3 minutes before topping with the orange glaze.
  • For the tantalizing Orange Glaze, combine 1/4 cup of zesty orange juice with 3/4 cup of sugar, and add a splash of 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla, butter flavoring, and almond flavoring.
