Oven-baked meatballs in a tasty, effortless tangy sweet sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 pounds ground beef
  • 0.75 cup water
  • 0.5 cup ketchup
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard powder
  • 0.75 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and lightly grease a 9x9-inch baking dish.
  • Shape the beef into 20 meatballs. Brown the meatballs on all sides in a large skillet over medium heat for about 15 minutes. Place the browned meatballs into the baking dish.
  • Prepare sauce by combining water, ketchup, sugar, soy sauce, cornstarch, vinegar, mustard powder, and salt in a bowl. Whisk until sugar is dissolved and cornstarch is well mixed. Pour over meatballs.
  • Roast in the oven until the sauce thickens and the meatballs are fully cooked, should take around 30 to 40 minutes. Use an instant-read thermometer to check if the meatballs reach a minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees F (72 degrees C).
