Savor this tangy oven-baked sweet and sour chicken - a saucy delight!
Ingredients:
  • 3- to 3 1/2-pound cut-up broiler-fryer chicken
  • 3/4 cup chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard (dry)
  • 1/2 teaspoon prepared horseradish
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper sauce
Instructions:
  • Thaw the chicken in the refrigerator overnight or for at least 12 hours if frozen. Trim off any excess fat using kitchen scissors or a knife. Rinse the chicken under cold water and pat it dry with paper towels.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  • Arrange the chicken, skin side down, in a single layer in a non-greased pan, then cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  • As the chicken bakes, combine chili sauce, honey, soy sauce, mustard, horseradish, and pepper sauce in a small bowl. Once the chicken is cooked, flip the pieces over and generously coat them with the prepared sauce using a spoon as needed for full coverage.
  • Bake uncovered for an additional 30 minutes or until the chicken juices run clear when cut into the thickest pieces. Drizzle the remaining sauce over the chicken before serving.
