Flavorful roasted turkey breast with buttery pan gravy - a simple and delicious family favorite.
Ingredients:
  • 0.25 cup butter, softened
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt-free garlic and herb seasoning blend (such as Mrs. Dash®)
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 (3 pound) turkey breast with skin
  • 1 teaspoon minced shallot
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 splash dry white wine
  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons half-and-half
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect baking temperature.
  • Combine 1/4 cup butter with garlic, paprika, Italian seasoning, garlic and herb seasoning, salt, and black pepper in a bowl.
  • Gently place the turkey breast with the skin-side up in a roasting pan. Carefully lift the skin with your fingers and brush half of the butter mixture over and under the skin. Save the rest of the butter mixture for later use. Cover the turkey breast loosely with aluminum foil.
  • Roast the turkey breast in the preheated oven for 1 hour, then baste with the remaining butter mixture. Continue roasting until the juices run clear and an instant-read meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the breast reads 165°F (65°C), for about 30 more minutes. Rest the turkey breast for 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
  • After the turkey rests, pour the pan drippings into a skillet. Remove any extra grease, leaving around 1 tablespoon. Cook the shallot in the turkey grease on low heat until it becomes translucent, for about 5 minutes.
  • In a skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter with shallot. Add white wine and scrape off any browned bits. Whisk in chicken stock and flour until smooth. Simmer and whisk constantly until thickened. For a creamier gravy, add half-and-half.
  • Serve the dish immediately while it's still hot to fully savor and delight in it!
