Simple and delicious make-ahead breakfast idea to bake fresh in the morning.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 (.25 ounce) packages active dry yeast
  • 0.5 cup warm water
  • 0.33333334326744 cup white sugar
  • 0.33333334326744 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 7 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 0.25 cup butter, softened
  • 1.5 tablespoons ground cinnamon
Instructions:
  • In a small saucepan, gently heat the milk until it starts to bubble, then take it off the heat and allow it to cool to lukewarm. In a small bowl, mix the yeast with warm water and let it sit for about 10 minutes until it becomes creamy.
  • Combine yeast mixture, milk, sugar, oil, baking powder, salt, egg, and 3 cups flour in a large bowl. Beat until smooth. Stir in the remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time, beating well after each addition. Knead on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until doubled in volume.
  • In a saucepan, melt brown sugar and 1/2 cup butter until smooth. Take off the heat and mix in corn syrup. Divide the mixture evenly between two 9x13 inch baking pans and top each with 1/2 cup of pecans.
  • Once the dough has doubled in size, gently deflate it and transfer to a floured surface. Roll it out into a large rectangle, spread with butter, sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Roll it up tightly into a log, then cut into 1-inch slices. Arrange the rolls in pans, ensuring some space between each. Cover the pans with foil and refrigerate for a minimum of 12 hours, up to 48 hours.
  • Take the rolls out of the refrigerator and allow them to rise in a cozy place until they double in size, which should take around 30 minutes. While you wait, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • 1. Bake in a preheated oven until golden, about 30-35 minutes. Transfer rolls onto a heatproof serving plate by inverting the pan immediately. Let sit for 1-2 minutes before removing the pan to allow caramel to drizzle over the rolls.
