Overnight Baked French Toast: Decadent and Sweet Make-ahead Breakfast
Ingredients:
  • cooking spray
  • 1 loaf French bread, sliced 1-inch thick
  • 8 large eggs
  • 2 cups half-and-half
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 dash salt
Instructions:
  • Prepare a 9x13-inch baking dish by greasing it. Arrange the bread slices in the dish, overlapping them if necessary.
  • In a medium bowl, combine eggs, half-and-half, milk, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mix well using a rotary beater or whisk. Pour the mixture over the bread, ensuring all slices are soaked. Cover and refrigerate for 8 hours to overnight.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Bake in the oven until a toothpick comes out clean, around 40 minutes.
