Spicy oyster stew with Louisiana hot sauce, vibrant green onion, and red bell pepper for a flavorful kick.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup finely chopped celery
  • 0.5 cup chopped green onion
  • 0.5 cup chopped red bell pepper
  • 2 pints half-and-half
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 (12 ounce) can oysters
  • 2 dashes Louisiana-style hot sauce
Instructions:
  • In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter until it becomes foamy.
  • Saute the celery, onion, and red bell pepper in the melted butter until tender, approximately 10 minutes.
  • Blend the half-and-half and parsley into the vegetable mixture, then season generously with salt and black pepper.
  • Simmer the mixture until it just starts to boil, then add the oysters with their liquid and Louisiana-style hot sauce. Simmer until the oysters curl, about 10-15 minutes.
  • Take the saucepan off the heat and let the stew rest for 5 minutes before serving.
