Spicy-sweet candied pecans make the perfect paleo snack or salad topping.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups pecan halves
  • 2 tablespoons bacon drippings
  • 1 teaspoon coconut palm sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon sea salt
  • 0.125 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a cozy 225 degrees Fahrenheit (110 degrees Celsius).
  • Place the pecans in a resealable bag and crush into small pieces.
  • Combine bacon drippings, palm sugar, sea salt, and cayenne pepper in a bowl. Toss pecans in the mixture until evenly coated, then transfer them to a rimmed baking sheet.
  • Bake the pecans in the preheated oven for about 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes, until they are toasted and fragrant. Once done, cool to room temperature, then store in an air-tight container.
