Impress your guests with a tender and flavorful London broil steak, seared in butter and expertly seasoned. Perfect for feeding a crowd in no time!
Ingredients:
  • 2 pounds top round cut of steak
  • Kosher salt
  • Dry mustard
  • Pepper
  • Unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
Instructions:
  • Before cooking, bring the steak to room temperature by taking it out of the refrigerator 2 hours in advance (only for whole cuts of meat, not ground meat). Trim any tough connective tissue. If needed, use a meat pounder to even out the thickness. Lightly season both sides with kosher salt.
  • Prepare the steak by rubbing both sides with dry mustard, salt, pepper, and butter. Heat a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Pat the steaks dry with paper towels before cooking.
  • Sear the steak in a hot pan on both sides for 2 to 3 minutes each without moving, ensuring a golden brown crust forms before flipping.
  • For thin steaks, after searing both sides until brown, tent with foil and set aside to finish cooking in the skillet. Test for doneness with finger pressure or by checking color. If juices run clear, it's ready. Thicker steaks should be transferred to a preheated 350°F oven until reaching 130°F internal temperature for medium rare. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  • To serve the dish, slice the steak thinly against the grain. If you enjoyed the recipe, please consider rating it with stars and leaving a comment!
