Try this quick and delicious sardine pasta for seafood lovers. Ready in just 30 minutes!
Ingredients:
  • 8 ounces dry fettuccine pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 medium lemon, juiced
  • 1 (3.75 ounce) can sardines in tomato sauce
  • 0.25 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 pinch red pepper flakes, or to taste
Instructions:
  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a vigorous boil. Add fettuccine and cook until just shy of tender, approximately 8 minutes.
  • As the pasta simmers, warm oil in a skillet on medium heat. Sauté onion until slightly softened for 3 minutes. Add garlic and cook until aromatic for 1 minute. Mix in sardines and tomato sauce, stir well, and heat through for 3 minutes. Lower the heat and let it gently simmer.
  • After you drain the pasta, toss it in the sauce and mix well. Then, cover the pan, turn off the heat, and rest for 3 minutes. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the pasta and distribute it evenly onto four plates. Sprinkle with Parmesan and red pepper flakes for a flavorful finish.
