Pastry bites with cheese and sesame

Enjoy freshly baked, deliciously cheesy pastry puffs.
Ingredients:
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 125.00 ml finely grated cheddar
  • 18.00 gm black sesame seeds
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 220C (200C fan-forced) and line a large baking tray with baking paper.
  • Cut small rounds from the pastry and place them on a prepared tray. If the pastry becomes too soft to handle, return it to the freezer.
  • Layer stacks of 3 cut pastry scraps alongside the circles on the baking tray. Brush the pastry with a glossy coat of egg wash, then generously sprinkle with a mixture of cheese and sesame seeds to add extra flavor and texture.
  • Bake until puffed and golden, about 15 minutes.
