Whipped turnips: a creamy, flavorful Thanksgiving side as satisfying as mashed potatoes.
Ingredients:
  • 7 large turnips, peeled and quartered
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • Boil a large pot of water, then simmer turnips until tender, for 35 to 45 minutes. Drain and rinse.
  • Use a fork to perfectly mash turnips in a large mixing bowl. Mix in milk and butter. Blend until reaching your preferred consistency. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
