Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/4 cup whipping cream
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup peanuts, coarsely chopped
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Delights Super Moist™ Dark Chocolate Cake Mix or 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Devil's Food Cake Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
  • 4 bars (2.07 oz each) Snickers™ candy bars, coarsely chopped
  • 1 tub (12 oz) Betty Crocker™ Whipped Fluffy White Frosting or 1 tub (12 oz) Betty Crocker™ Whipped Whipped Cream Frosting
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 325°F. In a heavy 1 1/2-quart saucepan, gently melt butter, whipping cream, and brown sugar together over low heat. Once the butter is melted, pour this delicious mixture into 2 ungreased 9-inch round cake pans. Evenly sprinkle the peanuts on top.
  • Prepare cake batter according to the instructions on the box, then gently spoon the batter into the pans.
  • Bake for 36 to 41 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the cakes cool for 10 minutes, then run a knife around the sides of the pans to loosen them. Invert the cakes onto a cooling rack, with the peanut sides facing up. Allow them to cool completely, for about 1 hour.
  • Carefully fold the candy into the frosting. Place the first cake layer, with the peanut side facing up, on a serving plate. Spread half of the frosting mixture on top. Add the second layer with the peanut side up and spread the remaining frosting on top. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, but no longer than 24 hours before serving.
