Sweet and tart pear cherry crisp, a simple and delightful dessert for guests.
Ingredients:
  • 2 pounds pears - peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1 (16 ounce) can pitted sour cherries, drained
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 0.66666668653488 cup white sugar
  • 0.25 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.33333334326744 cup white sugar
  • 0.75 teaspoon salt
  • 0.75 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 9 tablespoons butter
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 375°F (190°C) and give a gentle grease to a 2-quart baking dish.
  • In a baking dish, toss together pears, cherries, cornstarch, 2/3 cup sugar, and almond extract. In a separate bowl, mix flour, 1/3 cup sugar, salt, and nutmeg. Cut in butter until mixture looks like coarse crumbs. Sprinkle this over the fruit mixture in the baking dish.
  • Bake until the crust turns a beautiful golden color, which usually takes around 1 hour in a preheated oven.
