Easily create a delectable pear upside-down cake using yellow cake mix.
Ingredients:
  • 3 large ripe pears, peeled, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 2/3 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, toasted
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Butter Recipe Yellow Cake Mix
  • Water, butter and eggs called for on cake mix box
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Combine pears with lemon juice and vanilla in a medium bowl.
  • In a 13x9-inch pan, let the oven work its magic to melt 2/3 cup of butter. Sprinkle a delightful mixture of brown sugar, walnuts, and cinnamon over the molten gold. Finally, nestle those beautifully sliced pears into the pan.
  • Prepare the cake mix according to the box instructions by combining water, butter, and eggs. Gently pour the batter over the pears.
  • 1. Bake for 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Run a knife around the side of the pan to loosen the cake. Place a heatproof serving plate upside down over the pan, then carefully flip over. Allow it to sit for 5 minutes to let the topping drizzle over the cake, then remove the pan. Let it cool for 30 minutes and serve warm or at room temperature.
